How do the whisperers walk with the dead?

Instead of running from zombies, they skin the faces off of walkers, wear them as masks, and walk among the walkers to keep themselves safe. Although they are a unique and intimidating threat, some things about their existence and way of life just don’t make any sense.

Well according to all confirmed reports, The calls were a hallucination, Rick was having, hearing his wife(Lori) and his best Friend(Shane).

Rick (Andrew Lincoln), still trying to cope with the death of his wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) after childbirth, is alone in the prison boiler room where she had died when the phone rings. He answers it to hear the voice of Amy (Emma Bell) telling him she is in a safe place and will call back later.

With no trace of Lori’s body, Rick killed the walker and stabbed at its stomach to search for pieces of Lori’s corpse. He didn’t allow himself to fully investigate since he was overcome with emotion. Some viewers questioned how a walker could have eaten an entire body in that short of time.

Not only was Merle killed by the Governor in a last heroic act of redemption, but he then came back as a zombie and had to be killed again by his on-screen brother Daryl in a truly heartbreaking scene. However, the man who plays Merle, Michael Rooker, insists that was not the most powerful scene of his final episode.

Through out the series, we learned a little bit about Daryl’s past. We learn that his brother, Merle (Played by Michael Rooker, we have the same birthday! He’s exactly 36 years older than me!), was in and out of juvie while Daryl was growing up and at some point left Daryl with their abusive father.

Merle was a terrible guy. … With the death of Merle, The Walking Dead loses its most compelling character. Merle was a racist, misogynist, bigoted, Garguilo-killing redneck, but, as a man with both good and evil in him, he was also one of the most interesting characters on the show.

This would be his biggest and final act of redemption, as after taking down eight Woodbury soldiers, he is killed by the Governor, reanimates and is finally put down by his own brother. To the end of his life, Merle was a flawed man with issues that he kept himself from facing, but was never truly evil.

If Merle were still alive and with Rick’s group he would have stayed behind at Alexandria while the rest tried to take Maggie to the Hilltop for her medical emergency. Once he found out that Daryl had been taken by the Saviors he would curse Rick for not protecting him and would abandon Alexandria to go find Daryl.

While Merle had violently beaten Glen, and even sicced a zombie on him, The Governor took a different approach with Maggie. He went with psychological torture, humiliation and the threat of rape. He forced her to take her shirt and bra off, removing his own belt.

Merle Dixon is Daryl Dixon’s older brother. He harbors resentment towards Rick’s group after Rick chained him to a rooftop in Atlanta and left him for dead. Merle escaped certain death by sawing off his own hand, and was taken under the wing of a strong figure: the Governor.

Streaming Options. Last Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead featured one of the show’s most heartbreaking scenes ever as Daryl Dixon found the brother he had finally been reunited with — Merle — hunched over and eating human flesh as a zombie.

He definitely wants revenge, but at the same time, he’s just becoming hardened by life. Daryl stabbing Merle in the head over and over like that wasn’t anger toward his brother: It was at the situation, the world we live in. Frustration and a lot of rage comes from a fear-based place.

“My brother,” Daryl says. “It was an accident. Never found the body.” Leah asks Daryl he thinks Rick is still out there.

He let Michonne go back because he knew she could help his brother, not because he was a big angel. He also let her go because he knew that trading her to the Governor probably wasn’t going to have a good outcome.
